The Winner is Decided! See Who Won Eurovision 2017!

Over the last week, Eurovision fans have seen months of preparation all come to fruition with two incredible semi-finals, and then of course, the decider – the Grand Final. As you know, there can only be one winner, and that winner was unaimously decided upon by televoters and juries this year, which doesn’t always happen.

The winner of Eurovision 2017 is….

Salvador Sobral from Portugal!

This means that their 53 year streak without winning has been broken by the young performer, who won with his song titled Amar Pelos Dois, and written by his sister Luisa Sobral. When announced as the winner, Salvador called his sister up for an emotional duet of the winning song, bringing many audience members to tears.

Coming second was Bulgaria’s Kristian Kostov, giving the nation their best result ever. Same goes to third place Moldova, who also reached their best result with Sunstroke Project. Belgium was overall 4th, while Sweden 5th.

The bottom three featured Ukraine, Germany and Spain, with the latter receiving only 5 points, with Germany one point ahead with 6. The hot favourite to win Eurovision, Italy, overall came in 6th position.
