UK Decides: It’s SuRie to Perform Storm at Eurovision!

For the third year now, the United Kingdom have chosen to select their Eurovision act through the national final, Eurovision: You Decide. A total of six songs, which were previously revealed, were performed live on stage all hoping to follow in Lucie Jones’ footsteps.

This year the contest took place in Brighton Dome, and was hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Eurovision winner from 2015, Måns Zelmerlöw. Only a few weeks back, the six competing songs were revealed to fans, and overall faced mixed reviews, with certain acts emerging as strong favourites to take out the competition and go on to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision this year.

Here are the competing entries:

  • Asanda – Legends

  • Goldstone – I Feel the Love

  • Jaz Ellington – You

  • Liam Tamne – Astronaut

  • RAYA – Crazy

  • SuRie – Storm

After each performance, a special panel gave their comments and critiques to the artists and their songs, and added advice on how their songs could translate to the Eurovision stage if given the chance. The panel consisted of Rylan (singer and television personality), Tom Fletcher (member of group McFly) and Rochelle Humes (member of The Saturdays).

Ultimately, the voting was decided by an eight person jury, as well as the public with a split of 50/50. It was time for the winner to be announced, and that winner is…. SuRie with Storm!
