FYR Macedonia has broken the silence: It’s Eye Cue to fly the flag!

We originally thought they wouldn’t be participating at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, but with a few strings pulled, the nation were able to perform at the contest after all. It’s been pretty quiet from FYR Macedonia, but we now know more about what was happening behind the scenes, and who will be representing the nation in Lisbon!

It’s been announced by Macedonian broadcaster MRT that Eye Cue will be flying the Macedonian flag this year with the song Lost and Found. Earlier in the year the broadcaster launched a search for their 2018 entry, and out of 382 entries, a jury selected the group Eye Cue.

The group is one of the most popular bands within the Macedonian music scene, and they have been around since 2008. This year they’ve teamed up with Darko Dimitrov for their Eurovision entry which will be released at a future date.

The lead vocalist of the group is Marija Ivanovska and joining her is Bojan Trajkovski. Drummer Ivo Mitkovski often performs with the band, but it’s unsure as to whether it will be a duo or a trio on stage at Eurovision. They’ve had plenty of live performance experience, which of course will prepare the group for the task of representing their nation in the hopes of reaching the final, which is something that hasn’t been done since Kaliopi’s performance of Crno I Belo back in 2012.
