Whilst other national finals have been at the forefront of Eurovision fans attention, Israel has been quietly working through their selection process, building up to the final which will be held on the 13th of February. The format they are using again is The Next Star, which chose 2015 and 2016 participants Nadav Guedj and Hovi Star, both of which have been having fruitful careers after their Eurovision performances.
This year the show features a panel including Harel Skaat, the 2010 Eurovision participant for Israel. The format featured auditions where contestants aimed to get a curtain lifted to reveal the performer, which could only be done with at least 70% vote from both the viewers and judges.
The final will take place on the 13th and will feature two rounds. There will be two duels, where the winners will move into the next round. The judges will then decide which of the non-qualifiers will also continue to the next round. Out of the three participants in the final round, the act with the highest vote will become Israel’s next Eurovision participant.
Here are the four finalists:

Julieta

Beatbox Element
