Eurovision World Cup: Spain vs Ukraine

For the duration of the actual World Cup, some of the best Eurovision artists old and new will be battling it out in a series of matches that mirror the World Cup itself. By the end, we will know the first winner of our Eurovision World Cup!

On each competition day of the World Cup, all of the matches for that day will be posted here on Eurovision Union. For a full 24 hours, a poll will be open for each match and it will be up to you to pick which of the representative songs will win the match.

We have made it to Day 7 of the Eurovision World Cup, and today there will be a total of three matches featuring nations from both Group A and Group B. The next match is between Spain and Ukraine, so let’s get into it!

Today’s Competitors:

Spain have been competing at Eurovision since 1961, and since then have achieved two wins which interestingly were back to back. Since they have more than one win, it was up to us to decide which of the entries would be representing Spain in the Eurovision World Cup, and we decided on their 1968 entry La, La, La performed by Massiel. Watch the performance here:

Ukraine are one of the most successful nations at the contest, having won twice since their debut in 2003. Their first win was with Ruslana in the second appearance for Ukraine, however Ukraine’s World Cup entry is their latest winner which is 1944 by Jamala. Listen to the entry below:
