The fourth Melodi Grand Prix heat has taken place, where four acts competed with just one qualifying spot up for grabs.
It was previously announced that the Norwegian selection would consist of five heats, with four acts in each heat. Just one act will qualify each week, and the qualifiers will join six already qualified artists, KEiiNO, TIX, Stavangerkameratene, Kaja Rode, Atle Petterson and Rein Alexander.
The four competing acts in the heat were put into two duels, where a winner was decided for each duel. The winners would then move onto the ‘Gold Duel’ where the winner would then qualify to the Melodi Grand Prix final. The results were decided completely by online voting.
Here are the duels:
- Marianne Petha & Mikkel Gaup – Pages VS Landeveiens Helter – Alt det der
- KIIM – My Lonely Voice VS Royane – Circus
Marianne Petha & Mikkel Gaup and KIIM qualified to the Gold Duel, where KIIM finished out on top, qualifying to the Final with the song My Lonely Voice. Additionally, pre-qualified artist Atle Pettersen performed his song, World On Fire.
The three acts that failed to qualify to the final will go through a second chance round which will take place on the 14th of February, with the Grand Final to take place on the 20th of February.
