Andrew Lambrou will represent Cyprus at Eurovision in 2023, after an internal selection conducted by CyBC. Once again, CyBC is collaborating with Panik Records, and this time around, is also working with Australian label, City Pop Records.
Andrew Lambrou has Greek-Cypriot heritage, however resides in Sydney, Australia. Fans will recognise Andrew from his participation in the Australian Eurovision selection in 2022 with the song ‘Electrify’.
Jimmy Jansson and Thomas Stengaard will form part of the songwriting team, with Andrew recording his entry in Sweden. Jimmy Jansson has previously worked on entries that competed in Melodifestivalen, EMA, DMGP, Beovizija, Melodi Grand Prix and Benidorm Fest. His song ‘Yes’ was set to represent Denmark in 2020, performed by Ben & Tan.
Thomas Stengaard previously wrote the winner of Eurovision 2013, ‘Only Teardrops’. He also worked on songs such as ‘El Diablo’ (Cyprus 2021), ‘You Let Me Walk Alone’ (Germany 2018), and ‘Adrenalina’ (San Marino 2021).
Jimmy Thörnfeldt and Marcus Winther-John also worked on the entry, which is due for release in January.
