Eurovision Union’s April Playlist!

Throughout 2017, we enjoyed creating weekly playlists featuring songs from Eurovision and national final stars, new and old. This year, instead of (im)patiently waiting for artists to release new music each week, we’ve decided to focus on new music on a monthly basis.

We’ve selected songs that have been released on Spotify this month, and we’ve excluded songs that were competing in national finals (as we have our national final playlists for these tracks!). Also, since there’s thousands of Eurovision and National Final stars from over the years, it can be hard to keep up with all the new releases, so if you notice a song is missing, let us know and we’ll add it to the playlist!

New Albums

There were quite a few album releases this month, and all very anticipated. We’ll start with the albums from the most recent Eurovision stars, including Madame Monsieur who are representing France at this year’s Eurovision. They released their next full album titled Vu d’ici featuring a total of 14 tracks including their Eurovision song Mercy. We have included Qui Sait, Pour ceux qu’on aime and Comme une reine.

This year’s Finnish representative Saara Aalto has also released her album only weeks before her Eurovision appearance. The album is titled Wild Wild Wonderland and it’s had an overwhelmingly positive reaction! From her album we have featured DANCE!!!, Sirens and Wild Wild Wonderland.

We’ve also got last year’s Latvian representatives, Triana Park. In April, they released their first full album, with their previous releases being singles and EP’s. The album is titled Alive, and features their Eurovision song Line as well as 2018 release Home. On this playlist we’ve featured the songs Drunk, Alive and Stop.

Speaking of Latvian representatives, Justs has also just released a new album titled here I Am. It features a total of eight songs, and we have featured Anything Above and Why We Are Running.

Fan favourite Russian artist Sergey Lazarev has also released a new album, with this album titled The One and features English language songs including his Eurovision entry You are the only one. In this playlist you’ll find the tracks You put out the fire and Flying.

The final album featured on this month’s playlist is from national finalist Molly Sandén who has just released the Swedish language albume Större. It features some of our favourite singles Undanflykter, Rygg mot rygg, and Ditt sanna jag, but for this playlist we have featured the title track, as well as Sand and Ingen som jag.

New Singles from Eurovision Stars

There are a fair few new singles from Eurovision stars in April, and a lot that we are excited about. We’ll start with last year’s Spanish representative Manel Navarro who has just released the track titled Voulez-vous Danser which is yet another youthful and summery track from the young artist. Keeping with the Spanish theme we’ve also got a new single from Barei (which is featured as part of her May release album) titled You Number One.

From Robin Stjernberg, we have his latest single Love in the acoustic form which very adequately shows off his incredibly voice. Another incredible voice is Amaya, who was known as Maja Keuc in her Eurovision days, but with a new name came a new sound, and she is killing the game with her new track Concrete.

From Eastern Europe, we have both Maria Yaremchuk and Alyosha, who represented Ukraine in various points of time at Eurovision. Both have singles which were released in April, both in national language. From Latvia, we have Aminata who has released a new single titled Zero Love, and we’re excited to hear new music from her!

Last but not least from our previous Eurovision artists is The Edition who you may remember as Jon Lilygreen. Over April he released two covers, one of The Middle, and one of You Love!

Although technically not Eurovision stars, we are also going to feature the new tracks from Junior Eurovision stars in this category. We have two new tracks, one from Fource, who represented The Netherlands last year at the Junior contest, and their new track is called Voorbij. Also from The Netherlands is Sterre Koning who was a part of the girl group Kisses, and she has released a solo song called I Wanna Know.

New Singles from National Final Stars

We also have some top tunes from national final stars during April, with our favourite probably being the collaboration between Ralph Felix and Anton Ewald with the song No Excuses. Hands down one of the catchiest melodies in this playlist!

Fellow Melodifestivalen participant Linus Svenning has also released a collaboration with Albin Johnsén titled MASKIN. We also have Ulrik Munther who has recently dropped a new single titled Are You Alright? The most recent Swedish Melodifestivalen act we have on this playlist is LIAMOO who released a remix of his Melfest song Last Breath.

From Eastern Europe, we have new songs from The Hardkiss, who were previously in the Ukrainian national selection, as well as Max Barskih with the song Sdelay Gromche.
