Ruslan Aslanov brings Magic for Belarus (JESC)

Only days ago, the Belarussian national final took place to decide which of 10 acts would represent Belarus this year. The final took place in Minsk, at the studios of the broadcaster BTRC, and similar to their ‘senior’ contest, a jury and televoting decided the winner.

Ruslan Aslanov won both the jury vote, and the televote, therefore receiving the top amount of points. 2nd place was 10 points behind, and the vote received from the public for the winner, Ruslan, was around 3,000 more than any of the others.

His voice whilst singing his song Volshebstvo (Sorcery) is composed and strong, much like Gaia Cauchi and Vincenzo Cantiello’s voices from previous years – so will Ruslan bring it back to Belarus in 2016? The young star has had some experience before, namely, the Voice Kids in Ukraine. This is also not his first attempt at Junior Eurovision, entering the national final for Belarus in 2013, but only placing 7th.

Belarus has taken place in Junior Eurovision every single year since it began in 2003. The nation has hosted the contest once, and has won it twice – will this be the third?
