North Macedonia has a lengthy history at Junior Eurovision, however they are yet to win the contest. Their best result thus far is 5th place, and hoping to finally take the trophy home this year is the group Dajte Muzika. They will perform ‘Green Forces’ in Paris.

It’s not often we see larger groups at Junior Eurovision anymore, so this was a pleasant surprise. Four artists from the Dajte Muzika television program will represent the nation with ‘Green Forces’, an environmental anthem. This is easily one of the nation’s most contemporary entries at Junior Eurovision, however it still has a cultural flair.
While there are two male and two female members of the group, the male voices are at the forefront. It would have been interesting to see the focus shift in the second verse and chorus to the female voices, but as is, this is a great song. The beat is super catchy, and while the melodies are repetitive over the three minutes, if you enjoy them in the first place you don’t mind listening to them on repeat!
The biggest question mark is the live performance. This sounds great in the studio, but can they pull off the harmonies live? It might even be the case where only the male vocalists need to deliver vocals, as pre-recorded backing vocals are permitted. The group coming from a long-standing children’s music and performance program gives me hope that we can expect a strong performance.
Performance + Act
The kids know how to work with cameras, but that doesn’t automatically mean that their performance will be strong. I’m hoping for a contemporary and dynamic performance. If they stay too static, the repetitive nature of the song will be accentuated. I also hope the group has good chemistry on stage.
Conclusions
This is one of my favourite songs from this year’s contest. I could listen to this one on repeat, but more importantly, I think it has instant appeal. Should the group deliver a strong vocal and visual performance, North Macedonia could be in for their best result yet.

Dennis:
Song + Vocals
At Junior Eurovision there is always a group performance of girls and/or boys that stand out and get a good result. Macedonia tries to get that vote this year. Vocals are good, but the lyrics of the song are not very inspiring. They need to give a perfect performance to compensate for that.
Performance + Act
The four of Dajte Muzika need to keep their enthusiasm under control. A lot of jumping and shouting might hurt their chances, whilst I can understand that this song makes them wanna do just that. It’s appeal and enthusiasm could be the strength of their performance, but also the biggest potential weakness.
Conclusions
This is a tough song to execute, because it isn’t that hard when you look at the composition and build-up. It needs a visible, interesting act to make it stand out, but to do so a lot of dancing and jumping might be required. Which could hurt the vocals and harmony of the group. Let’s see if the Macedonian kids manage to pull this one off.
