Georgia: Tako Gachechiladze to sing Keep The Faith at Eurovision!

Last night, the Georgian national final took place, where a total of 25 acts performed their potential Eurovision songs. The show was broadcast live from the Tbilisi Philharmonic Concert Hall. Here is the complete list of competitors:

During the interval of the show, last year’s participants Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz performed their song Midnight Gold. Then the winner was presented, with Tako Gachechiladze announced as the winner with her song Keep the Faith.

The top 5 was as follows:

  • Tako Gachechiladze – Keep the Faith

  • Nutsa Buzaladze – White Horses Run

  • The Mins – Crime

  • Malibu – We Live Once

  • Mariam Chachkhiani – Fly

Tako Gachechiladze was actually due to participate in Eurovision 2009 as part of Stephane and 3G, however as you may remember, the song was deemed political, and hence withdrawn after the Georgian broadcaster refused to change the controversial lyrics of the song We Don’t Wanna Put In.

This time around, Tako will be singing Keep the Faith, which is another song seemingly inspired by the events happening around the world today. Her performance featured news clips and headlines, some of which Eurovision community members have deemed yet another political message coming from Georgia in Eurovision.
