Belarusian broadcaster BTRC have internally selected their Junior Eurovision act this year, with Arina Pehtereva set to represent the nation with her song, Aliens.
Arina was born in 2008 in Mogilev, Belarus, and has been involved with music since a young age. She began vocal lessons at the age of 6, and has since been taking part in many national and international vocal competitions. She has also competed in the Voice Kids, and has previously tried to represent Belarus at Junior Eurovision.
Speaking about her song, Arina says, ‘The song was written in spring when the coronavirus spread around the world. The idea of my song is simple: The world has stopped, borders have closed, people can no longer visit each other and even the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 is different. But I believe that the future is in our hands, and it is up to us children to save the world and make it better!’
