The first semi-final of the highly anticipated Melodifestivalen took place last night, where seven acts took to the stage, and only 4 get to continue the journey. As per the usual format of Melodifestivalen, two acts go directly to the final, and two continue on to the second chance round, which is held after all the semi-finals are complete. The remaining acts unfortunately end their Melfest journey in the semi-finals.
Here are the seven acts that took to the stage for semi-final 1:
-
Boris René – Her Kiss
-
Adrijana –Â Amare
-
Dinah Nah –Â One More Night
-
De Vet Du –Â Road Trip
-
Charlotte Perrelli –Â Mitt liv
-
Ace Wilder –Â Wild Child
-
Nano –Â Hold On
The general social media consensus, and the pre-melfest polls predicted the results fairly well for semi-final 1. The two acts that cruise through to the final are:
-
Ace Wilder – Wild Child
-
Nano – Hold On
The two acts that will get a second chance at winning Melodifestivalen are:
-
Boris René
-
De Vet Du
This means that former Eurovision winner Charlotte Perrelli is out of the competition alongside Adrijana and Dinah Nah.
The show was held in Gothenburg, and hosted by David Lindgren, Clara Henry and Hasse Andersson. The next semi-final will be held next Saturday the 11th of February, and the final will be held a month later on the 11th of March.
