Imri Ziv to Represent Israel!

Last night, the final for Israel’s Next Star For Eurovision took place with four acts fighting it out for the opportunity to represent Israel at this year’s Eurovision. The acts performed in front of a panel of judges which included former Eurovision participant Harel Skaat. The song that Imri will sing at Eurovision is still yet to be revealed, although it is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Here are the four acts that were part of the final:

  • Julieta

  • Beatbox Element

  • Diana Golbi

  • Imri Ziv

The format for the final was to feature two duels, where each singer performed for a place in the final. The winner automatically qualified through to the next round in the show, and then the judges decided on a 3rd act out of the two losing competitors from the duels. The songs that they all performed are listed below:

  • Julieta – My Number One (Helena Paparizou)

  • Beatbox Element – Hey Mama (David Guetta)

  • Diana Golbi – Euphoria (Loreen)

  • Imri Ziv – Halo (Beyonce)

The qualifiers from this round were Julieta, Diana Golbi and Imri Ziv. In the second round, the acts performed these entries:

  • Julieta – Shikorim me’ahava (Eden Ben-Zaken)

  • Diana Golbi – Purple Rain (Prince)

  • Imri Ziv – Because of You (Kelly Clarkson)

The two acts which made it through were Diana Golbi and Imri Ziv. According to the viewers votes, Imri Ziv will go on to be Israel’s 43rd representative at Eurovision.

This is not Imri’s first performance at Eurovision, as he has been the backing singer two years in a row now, for Nadav Guedj and also Hovi Star.
