Hard Rock Hallelujah! It’s AWS for Hungary!

Over the last month, we’ve watched Hungary sift through the 30 contenders all hoping to be the next Hungarian Eurovision act. There were three heats and two semi-finals, and this weekend we finally reached the culmination of the competition.

Here is the list of competitors:

  • Leander Kills – Nem szól harang

  • yesyes – I Let You Run Away

  • Zsolt Süle – Zöld a május

  • Tamás Horvath – Meggyfa

  • Gábor Heincz Biga – Good Vibez

  • Gergely Dánielfy – Azt mondtad

  • AWS – Viszlát nyár

  • Viktor Király – Budapest girl

The voting this week was slightly different to previous weeks, although still featured two rounds. In the first round, the jurors announced their scores after all the songs were performed, assigning the points 4, 6, 8 and 10 to their top four acts. The acts with the highest points would then continue through the second round, where the public had complete say on who would represent Hungary. The top four were:

  • yesyes – I Let You Run Away

  • Gergely Dánielfy – Azt mondtad

  • AWS – Viszlát nyár

  • Viktor Király – Budapest girl

After the second round, it was revealed that AWS had won the vote, and would go on to represent Hungary in Lisbon this year with their song Viszlát nyár. Watch their performance below and tell us what you think!
