This week we’ve got more news about the events happening around Eurovision next month, including the Eurovision Village! Host broadcaster RTP have now announced that the Eurovision Village will be located at Terreiro do Paço, and it will open on the 4th of May.
The village will be open each day until the day of the Grand Final on the 12th of May, from 10:00 to midnight each day. The organisers are aiming to keep the Eurovision village free for visitors, as long as there is the capacity to hold everyone!
RTP have also released a programme for some of the concerts to be held in the Eurovision village, including a number of Portuguese artists and performances from this year’s competing acts. The broadcasts of the live shows will also take place in the Eurovision village on the 8th, 10th and 12th of May. There will also be street food, a lounge area as well as sponsored activities around the area.
Here are some of the acts performing so far:
Portuguese duo Beatbombers will open the Eurovision Village stage on the 4th of May at 21:00 local time. The Beatbombers are also responsible for the soundtrack for the Eurovision flag parade that will take place in the Grand Final
On the 6th of May, there will be tributes to Portuguese artists performed by JP Coimbra and Nuno Figueiredo presenting a tribute to Carlos Paião, a tribute to Doce by Moullinex and the night will close with a tribute to Simone de Oliveira by Nuno Feist.
From 17:00 to 19:40 you will be able to watch the Eurovision artists walk the Blue Carpet, coming live from MAAT
On the 7th of May, the village will host Atlantic Night featuring Brazilian and African Sounds and Rhythms, with band Banda do Mar performing at 21:00 and Waldemar Bastos at 22:30
The Metropolitan Orchestra will perform the Greatest European Classics on the 9th of May at 21:00 to 23:00
On the 11th of May there will be Orelha Negra, who will perform at 21:00 and Capicua performing after, with Blaya, Ana Bacalhau, M7 and Marta Ren as Guests
