Eurovision World Cup: Australia vs Latvia

For the duration of the actual World Cup, some of the best Eurovision artists old and new will be battling it out in a series of matches that mirror the World Cup itself. By the end, we will know the first winner of our Eurovision World Cup!

On each competition day of the World Cup, all of the matches for that day will be posted here on Eurovision Union. For a full 24 hours, a poll will be open for each match and it will be up to you to pick which of the representative songs will win the match.

It’s Day 13, and we are inching ever closer to knowing which two countries from each group will progress to the next round. For many of these countries, their third match in this round is make or break, and it’s up to you to decide which nations will continue! Today all the matches from Group C and D will take place! This match is between Australia and Latvia!

Today’s competitors:

Australia is relatively new to Eurovision, having participated in only four contest, but have had a fairly successful run. Representing the nation in the Eurovision World Cup is none other than Dami Im who managed to finish in 2nd place at the 2016 contest with the song Sound of Silence. Check out the performance here:

It only took three years until Latvia scored their first Eurovision win, and as you will remember it was Marie N who took out the trophy for Latvia with the song I Wanna. Latvia has not yet won again since the 2002 edition of the contest, but at least they have a win on the board! Watch the performance here:
