After a national selection in their debut year last year, the broadcaster decided to select internally this year. Their chosen act is Yerzhan Maksim, a 12 year old from Oral. Despite his young age, Yerzhan has already accomplished a lot in his musical career. He took first place in the 2016 Batumi Dolphin Fest, and second place in the Slavianski Bazaar, 2017.

Yerzhan was also a finalist in the 2017 San Remo Junior Festival, and those who watched last year’s Junior Eurovision national final for Kazakhstan, you will remember Yerzhan as a strong competitor, finishing third in the national competition.

The Kazakh representative also recently found success on The Voice Kids Russia, finishing as a finalist in the competition.
