From Junior Eurovision to Eurovision: Destiny Chukunyere to Represent Malta!

Over the last few months, Malta has been on the search for their next Eurovision entrant through the second season of the X Factor Malta. A total of four participants competed in the final, including former Junior Eurovision winner, Destiny Chukunyere.

The show featured four rounds, with all four participants at minimum performing two songs. After the second round, one act was eliminated, and then after the third round, another act was eliminated.

Here are the finalists and the songs they performed for the first two rounds. The first round was original songs, and the second round was a guest duet.

  • Destiny Chukunyere – Save The Hero
  • F.A.I.T.H – We Are F.A.I.T.H
  • Justine Shorfid – Bittersweet
  • Kyle Cutajar – Rise

 

  • Destiny Chukunyere – River Deep – Mountain High (with Amelia Lily)
  • F.A.I.T.H – Don’t Start Now (with Owen Luellen)
  • Justine Shorfid – Alone (with Louisa Johnson)
  • Kyle Cutajar – Shallow (with Michela Pace)

After the first two round, Kyle Cutajar was eliminated from the competition. The third round was a Maltese classic song, and the fourth song was the Best Moment Song.

  • Destiny Chukunyere – Fejn Staħbejtli
  • F.A.I.T.H – Viva Malta
  • Justine Shorfid – L-Aħħar Bidwi

After this round, F.A.I.T.H were eliminated.

  • Destiny Chukunyere – He Lives In You
  • Justine Shorfid – All I Want

The winner was revealed to be Destiny Chukunyere, who will now go on to represent Malta at Eurovision this year. Her song will be revealed at a later time. Destiny previously represented Malta at Junior Eurovision in 2015, where she won the contest with her song Not My Soul.
