Italy: Festival di Sanremo to be held in March

It has now been announced that Festival di Sanremo 2021 will be pushed back until March, rather than its usual February slot. The dates have been set, and the long-running song festival will take place from March 2nd to March 6th.

The changes to the schedule are due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with Italy severely affected. It has also been confirmed that Amadeus will once again be the Artistic Director for the contest.

It has not yet been confirmed whether Italy will participate at Eurovision next year. Diodato won Sanremo 2020 with the song Fai Rumore, which was set to represent Italy at Eurovision this year. It has not been announced whether Diodato will represent Italy with a new song, or whether Sanremo will act as the selection process.
