Mark your calendars – on January 6th, NRK will announce the participants of Melodi Grand Prix.
Norwegian broadcaster NRK is set to reveal the list of artists competing in the upcoming Norwegian Eurovision selection. The team behind Melodi Grand Prix has previously said that viewers can expect a wide range of genres.
‘MGP 2022 offers great variety and diversity. There will be sophisticated artisanal pearls of some songs. There will be party songs for the dance floor, there will be theatrical numbers, there will be big ballads, heavy rock, opera, country and the most modern music of 2021. In my, not entirely objective eyes, perhaps one of the best musical versions we have had. The level of this year’s vocalists is out of this world.’ – Stig Karlsen, Melodi Grand Prix manager
It’s not known when the competing songs will be released. In the previous edition, the songs were revealed on the Monday prior to each semi-final.
The dates for Melodi Grand Prix 2022 are as follows:
- Semi-Final One – January 15
- Semi-Final Two – January 22
- Semi-Final Three – January 29
- Semi-Final Four – February 5
- Semi-Final Five – February 12
- Grand Final – February 19
