🇮🇱 Noa Kirel to Fly Israeli Flag at Eurovision 2023

Noa Kirel will represent Israel at Eurovision 2023 after an internal selection by IPBC. Israel is the first to announce their representative for the 2023 season.

A ten-member committee appointed by IPBC selected Noa Kirel internally, marking the first Israeli internal selection since 2014. It is also the first representative to be selected by IPBC since the broadcaster’s formation in 2017.

According to Gimel and Galgalatz, the selection committee discussed 78 singers with proven experience of performing in front of large audiences. The list included names of artists with the most airplay in Israel, with nominees for Singer of the Year and Group of the Year in the mix.

Each committee member put forward two names from the list for further discussion. They formed a list by priority order, with the broadcaster offering the position to the first artist on the list. Noa Kirel was the first choice of the committee, with the artist accepting the offer to represent Israel at Eurovision.

Noa Kirel is 21 years old, but in her young age has achieved huge success. She released her debut single ‘Medabrim’ in 2015, and followed it up with a string of successful singles. The star released her first English single ‘Drum’ in 2019. Noa won the MTV Music Award for Best Israeli Artist every year since 2017, and has also performed at Miss Universe in 2021.

It is unknown whether her entry will be selected internally, or whether a selection will be held.
