Earlier this week, the BBC presented the UK’s Eurovision act for 2015. Similar to last year, the BBC chose to internally select the song to represent the nation. The broadcaster selected Electro Velvet, a duo consisting of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas. The song they will be singing is called ‘Still in Love with you’ and is described as Electro Swing.
The song was selected from hundreds of song which were submitted to the BBC. Both professional and amateur writers submitted their songs, giving the BBC a broad range of songs to choose from. They chose this song due to its ‘catchy hook that is sure to get the party started in Vienna.’
The duo, despite never having sung together live, are excited and honoured to be representing their nation on Europe’s biggest musical stage. Alex previously performed in a Rolling Stones cover band, and Bianca auditioned on the UK version of the Voice, however failed to progress further in the show. Nevertheless, the pair will be performing together in what will be the biggest gig of their careers thus far!
