2015 Reviews – Belgium – Loic Nottet – Rhythm Inside

Anita:

I think this is FABULOUS. When Belgium chose their representative early on in the Eurovision National Final season, I didn’t take it too seriously. Remember when they chose Roberto Bellarosa? It was like that all over again. Then, as we got closer to the date of the song reveal, I was anxious to see what Belgium had spent so long creating. When the snippet was released, I went in not knowing what to expect, and when I heard the short clip of the song, I thought ‘Oh, ok, this is interesting!’ and when the full clip was released, I realised how much of a musical masterpiece the song really is.

I think this is easily one of the best songs Belgium has sent, up there with Tom Dice in 2010. I think its modern style is exactly what Eurovision needs. Along with Latvia, this song really push the contest in the right direction. It’s pushing the boundaries further than what other songs this year do, and I really appreciate that. I can see it translating live quite well, and once you’ve heard Loic sing live on other tracks, you can see that his voice really shines, especially for such a young singer.

This is by far, one of my favourite songs of this year, and I really hope it achieves a result it deserves. I can’t wait to see the rehearsals to see how it is staged, and I hope the performance isn’t too over the top. Overall, I really love the song, and he will definitely be receiving votes from me!

I’m rating this 10/10 – I love it!
