Nina Kraljic releases promo video for ‘Lighthouse’

Croatia kept quiet this national final season, but we now know that it will be Nina Kraljic who will represent the nation with enchanting song titled ‘Lighthouse.’ Nina has become one of the nation’s most promising artists, who like many now in Eurovision, started her career on the television program, The Voice. She won the Voice in Croatia, and then was nominated for 3 Porin awards. Now, she will be representing her nation at Eurovision in Sweden.

The song she will be singing in the first semi-final is titled Lighthouse, and was first premiered on a public radio programme. The song was written by Andreas Grass and Nikola Paryla. It was produced by Thorsten Brötzmann in Germany. The song is a mix of modern and ethnic sounds, which Nina says is a combination she loves. She says the song touched her at first listen, and boasts a message of hope for those who believe all hope is lost.

The head of delegation for Croatia believes that singing the song in English will give Nina the best chance of success at the contest, and as it stands, Croatia is now one of the favourites to win Eurovision 2016.

The promo video has been filmed and released, and features video from the short film Hvar Into the Storm. The video captures the atmosphere of the island and shows a time lapse during a two year period. In the time, the filmmakers Mario Romulić and Dražen Stojčić captured some spectacular thunderstorms. The filming took place on the island of Hvar, but also from the mountain of Biokovo and nearby island of Brač.
