JESC: Georgia chooses Mariam Mamadashvili!

Georgian Public Broadcaster, GBP, has internally selected the act that will represent Georgia at Junior Eurovision this year. They announced that it would be 10 year old Mariam Mamadashvili, who was chosen by a professional jury.

The broadcaster held an open competition for talented youth in Georgia, and a jury selected the winner from the participants in the open submission. The jury consisted of,

  • Rusudan Bakhtadze (Vocal Coach)

  • Nato Dumbadze (Producer)

  • Zaza Orashvili (Director)

  • Nika Kocharov (Singer, part of the 2016 Georgia ESC act)

  • Lizi Pop (Singer and 2014 JESC participant)

At the moment, we don’t have too much information, however we do know that composer Giorgi Kukhianidze will be working with Miriam on the song, and we will be able to hear the song in the following weeks.

Georgia has won Junior Eurovision twice now, the first time in 2008 with Bzikebi, and then again in 2011 with the group Candy.  Last year, Georgia competed with the group, The Virus and placed 10th.
