Hungary: First 6 qualifiers from Heat 1

Last night, Hungary’s national selection process kicked off with Heat 1 of A Dal taking place. A total of 10 acts took to the stage, with 6 of those acts qualifying for the semi-finals which will be held in February.

The first five qualifiers were decided by a mixture of televote and jury vote. The jury was made up of Hungarian music industry professionals including Caramel, Zséda, Károly Frenreisz and Miklós Both. The sixth qualifier was chosen through a second round of public voting.

Here is the complete list of competitors from heat 1:

• Dávid Henderson – White Shadows

• Leander Kills – Élet

• Calidora – Glory

• The Wings – Mint a hurrikán

• Viki Singh – Rain

• Spoon 21 – Deák

• Kata Csondor – Create

• Benji – Karcok

• Rocktenors – Ősz

• Roma Soul – Nyitva a ház

The first five qualifiers were:

1. Leander Kills – Élet (40 points)

2. Roma Soul – Nyitva a ház (40 points)

3. Viki Singh – Rain (39 points)

4. Spoon 21 – Deák (39 points)

5. Dávid Henderson – White Shadows (37 points)

From here, the second round of voting took place to decide which of the remaining acts would be the sixth and last qualifier.

The public voted Benji as the final qualifier from the first heat. In the first round, Benji was ranked 6^th, and the public voted again to support him, therefore finishing in 6^th place with a total of 36 points for his song Karcok.

Overall, there are 30 acts taking place in A Dal 2017, however two of the originally chosen acts were disqualified or withdrawn before the commencement of the contest. Stay tuned for more news from Hungary!
