Every week, we’re bringing you a specially curated playlist featuring songs that were recently released by Eurovision or National Final artists, and a few of our old favourites. This week, we’ve got some new releases, some of our favourite national final artists with their follow up singles, and a few recent Eurovision favourites.
Here is the playlist:
Former Swedish Junior Eurovision star Erik Rapp just dropped a new EP, and even though it’s early days for 2017, Lovers EP is already an absolute favourite. Although we love all four songs featured, No Reason is the current song on repeat, and a close favourite is Available.
Newer releases from former Australian Eurovision stars Dami Im and Guy Sebastian are also featured on this week’s playlist with songs quite different from one another. Dami has an upbeat, catchy tune in Fighting for Love, while Guy has toned it right back for Set in Stone.
Other new releases include Keep On Lying by Armenia’s 2016 participant Iveta Mukuchyan, which is also a toned down tune, but catchy nonetheless. Continuing with this theme, we’ve also featured some of our favourite follow up tracks from Eurovision stars, including Firestorm by Austria’s Conchita and Sztorm by Poland’s Cleo and Donatan.
Some of our favourite past national final songs have also made the cut this week, featuring Heart Shaped Hole by Simone, which was definitely one of our favourites in the 2016 Danish National Final. Nordic neighbours Sweden also had a musical masterpiece in Wiktoria’s Save Me, which Swedish pop at its best. Poland’s Margaret is still getting plenty of air time with the pop number Cool Me Down – no explanation needed here!
Inspired by upcoming national finals, we’ve also featured Loreen once again, alongside Brooke Borg, who is also returning to her respective national final. Italy’s annual festival Sanremo is also approaching, with one of the big artists this year, Elodie. She’s relatively new in the Italian music scene, but one to watch for come Sanremo time.
Lastly, we’ve featured a handful of former Eurovision songs which we’ve been enjoying this week, including What’s the Pressure, Silent Storm and The Way You Are. This, and more all part of this week’s playlist!
Tell us which songs you enjoyed from our playlist, and which songs you would love to see in next weeks’ playlist! Make sure to follow us on Spotify to keep up with our weekly playlists, and of course Twitter and Facebook to chat with us and other Eurovision fans!
