Alma To Represent France with ‘Requiem’

Exciting news from France overnight, where the representative who will follow on from Amir has now been chosen. After his success for France in 2016, the French broadcasters France 2 and France 4 have joined forces to internally select the act who will represent France in Kyiv. They have decided that an upcoming young artist Alma will sing the song Requiem, which was written and composed by Nazim Khaled.

Alma is 28 years old and the eldest of three sisters. She completed a business degree, however after finishing, she decided to pursue her passion for music. She then moved to Paris, and it was here when she met the songwriter Nazim, who has also written for Amir. He has written most of the songs of Alma’s debut album which will be released just before Eurovision on the 5th of May. Alma has also been named one of the most promising artists in 2017, with an emerging presence on digital platforms. Speaking of which, her song Requiem is available now on all digital platforms.

Alma has commented on her upcoming gig, saying, ‘I’m deeply honoured to have been selected to represent my country, France, at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest… I strongly hope to count on the public’s love and support to deliver the best performance possible’
