Eurovision World Cup: Denmark vs Armenia

For the duration of the actual World Cup, some of the best Eurovision artists old and new will be battling it out in a series of matches that mirror the World Cup itself. By the end, we will know the first winner of our Eurovision World Cup!

On each competition day of the World Cup, all of the matches for that day will be posted here on Eurovision Union. For a full 24 hours, a poll will be open for each match and it will be up to you to pick which of the representative songs will win the match.

Today marks the first day of the Final 16 round. Over the last few weeks, we have been bringing you the Group Stage of the Eurovision World Cup, and now from each of the eight groups, only two nations have qualified into this round. Today we have two matches running across Groups A, B, C and D. The survival of your favourites is dependent on your votes, so make sure to support your favourite acts! This match is between Denmark and Armenia!

Today’s competitors:

Denmark has a lengthy history at the contest, having first participated in 1957. Since then, they have won the contest no less than three times, in 1963, 2000 and 2013. Since we loved all three winning entries, it was difficult to choose the representative, however we have chosen Emmelie de Forest with Only Teardrops which is the most recent winner from Denmark. Armenia is yet to win Eurovision, but they have sure sent some successful songs over the years, including today’s Eurovision World Cup representative. Armenia’s best placing is 4th, which they have achieved twice, so it was once again organiser’s choice – and we chose Sirusho with Qele Qele! Let the party really begin!
