Azerbaijan: Dihaj releases ‘Skeletons’

Late last year, the Azerbaijani national broadcaster ITV announced that Dihaj would be participating at Eurovision, and now, the song that she will be singing is available for Eurovision fans to listen to! The song that she will be performing is called Skeletons, which was written by famous Azerbaijani composer and producer Isa Melikov and Sandra Bjurman. Both have previously worked on Eurovision projects for Azerbaijan, most notably for the winning entry of 2011, Running Scared. Isa has previously worked with Dima Bilan and Aysel, while Sandra has worked with Elnur, Safura and Ukraine’s Maria Yaremchuk in their Eurovision bids.

More about Dihaj:

Dihaj is the stage name of Diana Hajiyeva, who graduated from Baku Music Academy in 2010. She then moved to London to study at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. While there, she became a part of the underground music scene by performing in a progressive trance trio called Looper and Mancus. At this time, she decided to launch her own band.

In 2014, she created Dihaj, an electronic music group from Baku in Azerbaijan. Their breakthrough single was called I Break Again, which was written alongside Azerbaijani jazz pianist Sarabsky. Music critics have labelled the genre as experimental doom pop due to its post rock guitar rids and atmospheric vocals
