Eurovision 2018: Hungary’s A Dal to kick off this weekend!

Only weeks ago, we saw the full line-up for Hungary’s national selection, A Dal, and this week the highly anticipated national selection will begin! We’ve had a few changes to the line-up since the official announcement, which you can read about here, but for now things seem to be stable, and we have the first 10 acts to take to the stage!

The first show will take place on January 20th, and there will be two more heats in the following weeks, the 27th of January and the 3rd of February. There will be two semi-finals on the 10th and 17th of February, with the final to take place on the 24th of February.

Here are the 10 competing acts for the first semi-final:

  • Ceasefire X – Satellites

  • Fourtissimo – Kisnyuszi a kalapban

  • Király Viktor – Budapest Girl

  • Knoll Gabi – Nobody To Die For

  • Leander Kills – Nem szól harang

  • LivingRoom – Kirakat élet

  • Noémo – Levegőt!

  • Patikadomb – Jó szelet!

  • Süle Zsolt – Zöld a május

  • Vastag Tamás – Ne hagyj reményt

This year the featured jury will consist of Károly Frenreisz, Miklós Both, Judit Schell and Misi Mező. The jury will weigh in on the performances, offering their advice to the artists, but they will also have a role in choosing the qualifying acts. The audience at home will act as the fifth jury member, and this year the songs can be rated through the A Dal app.

The show will kick off at 20:30 CET on MTVA’s Duna channel, and will be hosted by Kriszta Rátonyi and Gábor Alfréd Fehérvári, also known as Freddie, Hungary’s 2016 Eurovision representative!
