32 acts to compete to represent Ireland at Junior Eurovision!

More information has been revealed about this year’s national selection in Ireland, where a total of 32 acts will be competing to earn the opportunity to represent Ireland at this year’s Junior Eurovision.

The application process closed on August 23, and from there a panel will be looking through the submissions and from there auditions will be held. During the second round of auditions, the potential candidates will perform the songs they intend to perform at Junior Eurovision, if they are selected.

The format of the show will consist of four heats, and only one artist from each heat will continue through to the final. There may also be one wildcard entry which gains a spot in the final.

Unfortunately it may still be a few months before we see the show. As in previous years, the broadcaster will not be broadcasting the show live, but rather showing it delayed. Last year, the programme was shown in the weeks leading into the contest however the winner was revealed prior due to the EBU deadline where the entries need to be submitted.
