Earlier in the Junior Eurovision national final season we reported that Portugal would be participating at this year’s Junior Eurovision, and they had opened two submissions, one for the artist, and one for the song. Time has since progressed, and we now know who will be representing Portugal!
This year the artist selection was held behind closed doors with a jury selecting the artist, which is contrary to what we first reported. However we do know the ten artists who were in the running to represent Portugal. Here are the 10 acts:
- Carolina Teixeira
- Eva Stuart
- Júlia Ochoa
- Lara Matos Ferreira
- Malia Afonso
- Mariana Chaves
- Matilde Cepeda
- Nuno Siqueira
- Rita Laranjeira
- Sara Monteiro
During the television programme Agora Nós on RTP 1, it was announced that 13 year old Rita Laranjeira would be representing Portugal with a song that is yet to be revealed, but with the song submission period now over, we can expect a song reveal in the coming weeks!
It has been said that Rita will be working in the studio in the coming days, and it is also expected that there will be an official video that will be released to accompany the Portuguese entry.
Stay tuned for more news from Portugal!
