Finland to reveal their Eurovision 2019 Act on January 29

Finnish broadcaster YLE has announced that their Eurovision 2019 artist will be revealed later this month. The broadcaster has chosen to stick with the internal selection of the artist, with a public selection to decide on the competing entry.

The artist reveal will take place in a press conference on January 29, with the venue for the public song selection to also be revealed in this press conference.

The previous format of UMK featuring multiple artists was put aside in 2018 to feature the internally selected artist Saara Aalto. In the public selection, she performed three potential Eurovision entries with the public deciding which should represent Finland at Eurovision. The broadcaster has chosen to continue with this format in order to place more focus on the stage performance and other Eurovision related content.
