Earlier in the Junior Eurovision season, it was announced that Spain would be returning to the contest after a 13 year absence. Now we know that Melani García will represent the nation at the upcoming contest.
Spanish broadcaster RTVE has now revealed that 12 year old Melani García will represent Spain with a song that is yet to be released. Melani was announced as the representative on the TV show ‘A Partir de hoy’ where she cried tears of joy for the honour.
Melani was born in La Eliana in 2007, and started to become involved with music at the age of 8. She participated in her local choir, and has since had an affinity for opera singer Maria Callas. Due to her age, she was not able to get into the Music Conservatory School however she has taught herself classical music. She plays the violin, and is now studying piano. Other than music, she also enjoys rhythmic gymnastics, contemporary dance and ballet as well as sports.
