Format Changes Announced for Irish Junior Eurovision Selection

Earlier in the Junior Eurovision season, it was announced that Ireland would be sticking with the national final format, however now it has been revealed that there will be some changes to the selection.

Irish broadcaster TG4 has announced that a total of 28 participants will feature in the selection this year, and the participants will be performing cover songs rather than original songs as in previous years. The cover songs will be popular English language songs, however the twist is that these songs will be translated into Irish for the competition.

Due to these changes, it seems that the song that will represent Ireland at Eurovision will be chosen internally.

Filming for the semi-finals will begin in Dublin on August 8 and 9, with two shows to be filmed each day. Tickets are available for the shows.
