The Maltese Junior Eurovision national selection took place late last month, with the winner now announced. A total of 12 acts were in the running to represent the nation at the contest.
The final show was broadcast on TVM1 and was hosted by former Eurovision participant Amber alongside Dorian Casar. Pre-recorded performances from the participants were used during the show, and then online voting was open for several days. The online voting accounted for 50% of the vote, with jury votes making up the other 50%.
The 12 finalists were:

- Emma Cutajar – Modern-Day Cinderella
- Isaac Tom – Beside Me
- Kaya Gouder Curmi – Made of Stars
- Leah Cauchi – Anġli (Angels)
- Leah Mifsud – Anywhere
- Mariah Cefai – Change the Silence
- Michela Caruana – Replay
- Mychael Bartolo Chircop – The Child from Inside
- Yulan Law and Gianluca Cilia – Deck of Cards
- Zaira Mifsud and Eksenia Sammut – Only Live Once
The winner of the selection was Chanel Monseigneur with the song Chasing Sunsets. Chanel was born in 2011 and lives in Mosta. Her passion for singing began at an early age, but she began music lessons just 3 years ago. After participating in various local singing competitions, she took part in her first ever international competition held in Lithuania. The competition, Music Talent League, was a successful one for Chanel, finishing 1st place in her age group. She has since participated in Talent World Contest (Italy) and in Riga Symphony (Latvia), placing 1st in both competitions.
