Belgian Eurovision representatives Hooverphonic have now released the song that they will take to the contest this year. The group was set to represent Belgium in 2020 with the song ‘Release Me’, however as we know, the contest was inevitably cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, they will perform the song ‘The Wrong Place’.
The group has said that 25 songs were in the running for Rotterdam, with 21 versions of ‘The Wrong Place’ mixed before deciding they were happy with the entry. The song was written by Alex Callier and Charlotte Foret. Listen to the song below:
The group has had a change in line-up since last year’s contest, with former lead singer Geike Arnaert returning as the lead vocalist. She replaces Luka Cruysberghs, who was performing with the group from 2018 to 2020.
