TIX wins Barbara Dex Award for ‘Most Notable Outfit’

While they may not have taken the Eurovision trophy home, Norwegian Eurovision representative TIX did not leave empty handed. It has now been announced that TIX has won the Barbara Dex Award for 2021.

The award is annually given out to the artist for the ‘most notable’ outfit. The award is run by fan website, songfestival.be, with a vote open to the public. Each year, there are a handful of contenders for the award, and this year was no exception. Close to 5000 votes were cast, with two nations leading above others. Here is the top 5:

  1. Norway – TIX
  2. Romania – Roxen
  3. Croatia – Albina
  4. United Kingdom – James Newman
  5. Israel – Eden Alene

The award has been given out since 1997, and this year marks the first time a Norwegian artist has been awarded. A total of three nations have won the award twice, and they are North Macedonia (2005, 2018), Portugal (2006, 2019) and Serbia (2010, 2013).
