19 Nations to compete at Junior Eurovision 2021

The European Broadcasting Union has now confirmed that a total of 19 countries will compete at the upcoming edition of Junior Eurovision.

Executive Supervisor for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Martin Österdahl commented,

‘We’re excited to welcome 19 countries for the 19th Junior Eurovision Song Contest on 19 December in Paris, particularly those who didn’t participate in last year’s show because of the pandemic. The preparations so far from France Télévisions have been exemplary and this year’s Contest promises to be the best yet. We’re looking forward to hosting young talents from across Europe for a truly magical event with plenty of surprises!’

A total of 8 nations are returning to the contest, many of which withdrew from the 2020 contest due to the pandemic. Here are the returning nations and their last participation in brackets:

Junior Eurovision will take place on the 19th of December and will be held at La Seine Musicale in Paris.
