The search for the next Norwegian Eurovision entrant begins this weekend, with four artists competing for a place in the Melodi Grand Prix final. Let’s meet the participants!
On January 15th, the first four acts will take to the stage to perform their potential Eurovision entries. Additionally, one of the pre-qualified acts will perform their entry. Here are the competitors…
Mira Craig – We Still Here

Mira is no stranger to Melodi Grand Prix. Back in 2008, she wrote the winning entry for Maria Haukaas Storeng. The song, ‘Hold On Be Strong’ went on to finish 5th in the Eurovision final held in Belgrade.
Mira competed in Melodi Grand Prix back in 2010 with the track ‘I’ll Take You High’. She advanced to the second chance round, however failed to reach the final. The talented RnB singer-songwriter worked with a wide range of international artists and producers, including Snoop Dogg.
Frode Vassel – Black Flowers

Frode Vassel has extensive Eurovision experience, however has not been in the spotlight himself. He performed backing vocals on three occasions, including for JOWST (2017), Alexander Rybak (2018) and KEIINO (2019).
It’s now time for Frode to be front and centre.
TrollfesT – Dance Like a Pink Flamingo

TrollfesT were formed in 2003 when a group of friends were tired of the music around them. As a result, they formed a band and started creating a unique sound.
The group takes inspiration from metal, as well as music from the Balkans. It’s not uncommon to hear saxophones, accordions and synths used in their music. The group released a number of albums across their career.
Eline Noelia – Ecstasy

Eline Noelia is a 22-year-old artist and songwriter. She studied pop music at Lillehammer Institute of Music Production.
Her career as a vocalist kicked into gear when she began working with Audun Agnar Guldbransen. This track is the result of their first studio session, and the start of a bigger project.

Elsie Bay – Death of Us
Music and lyrics: Elsa Søllesvik / Jonas Holteberg Jensen / Andreas Stone Johansson
Elsie Bay is the latest project of singer-songwriter Elsa Søllesvik. She was recently nominated for a Spellemann award for her album Endless Optimism. This album was the soundtrack for the popular TV series, SKAM. With over 30 million streams on Spotify, it’s safe to say the album is a hit!
The talented artist also has experience at Melodi Grand Prix, having written ‘Witch Woods’ which was performed by Emmy in 2021. She also wrote ‘Hammer of Thor’ which Oda Gondrosen will perform in the third semi-final.
