🇳🇴 Melodi Grand Prix: Meet the Semi-Final Two Participants

The search for the next Norwegian Eurovision entrant continues this weekend, with four artists competing for a place in the Melodi Grand Prix final. Let’s meet the participants!

On January 22nd, the next four acts will take to the stage to perform their potential Eurovision entries. Additionally, one of the pre-qualified acts will perform their entry. Here are the competitors…

Lily Löwe – Bad Baby

Music and Lyrics: Lill Sofie Wilsberg / Trond Holter / Victoria Land

Lily Löwe performs primarily in the hard rock genre, however includes elements of metal, pop and punk into her music. She enjoys challenging expectations within these genres, creating her own music universe.

Her inspirations include Rammstein and Lady Gaga.

Steffen Jakobsen – With Me Tonight

Music and Lyrics: Mats William Wennerberg / Nicolai Herwell

Steffen Jakobsen is a country music artist from Grimstad. In 2013, Steffen finished 3rd in Idol.

His biggest dream is to perform on the radio show Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, however prior to that, he will perform With Me Tonight in a bid to represent Norway at Eurovision this year.

Farida – Dangerous

Music and Lyrics: Farida Bolseth Benounis / Rasmus Simon Vedvik Thallaug / Atle Pettersen / Peter Newman / Hannah Dorothy Bistow

Farida previously toured with Dua Lipa, and has performed at festivals such as South by Southwest in Texas. In September 2021, she became a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in New York.

Former Melodi Grand Prix participant Atle Pettersen joins the songwriting team for this track.

Daniel Lukas – Kvelertak

Music and Lyrics: Daniel Lukas Kalelic / Are Næsset

Daniel Lukas participated in Idol back in 2018, where he impressed judges with an original song. In the following year, he won the competition H&M Loves Music, and performed alongside established Norwegian artists at the Vulkan Arena.

Other than music, he previously worked as a swimming instructor, and is currently working as a salesman. That could all change after his Melodi Grand Prix appearance!

Christian Ingebrigtsen – Wonder of The World

Music and lyrics: Christian Ingebrigtsen / Michael Hunter Ochs / Henrik Tala

Christian Ingebrigtsen is a popular singer and songwriter, perhaps best known for being a part of pop group A1. The group formed back in 1998 and broke up in 2002. In 2009, the group reformed, and are still currently releasing music.

For Melodi Grand Prix, Christian will step on stage alone with his song ‘Wonder of the World’.
