The search for the next Norwegian Eurovision entrant continues this weekend, with four artists competing for a place in the Melodi Grand Prix final. Let’s meet the participants!
On February 5th, the next four acts will take to the stage to perform their potential Eurovision entries. Additionally, one of the pre-qualified acts will perform their entry. Here are the competitors…
Alexandra Joner – Hasta La Vista

Alexandra is a Norwegian-Cuban singer, dancer and actress. Her breakthrough came after entering the dance competition Dansefeber on TVNorge. In 2015, she participated in Melodi Grand Prix with the song Cinderella.
She describes her new MGP song as ‘a goodbye to boring boys’
Kim Wigaard – La Melodia

Kim is an experienced vocalist, having performed at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, off-Broadway in New York and has sold out Oslo Concert Hall.
Kim participated in Melodi Grand Prix in 2020 with the duet ‘Fool For Love’ with Maria Mohn, who he is competing against in this semi-final!
Maria Mohn – Fly
Music and lyrics: Maria Mohn / Einar Kristiansen Five
Maria is a graduate of the Norwegian Academy of Music. She participated in Idol, and performed on TV shows such as Beat for Beat and Popstokk.
Her new Melodi Grand Prix entry is dedicated to her three children.
Sofie Fjellvang – Made of Glass
Music and lyrics: Sofie Fjellvang / Kjetil Mørland
Sofie Fjellvang is a 21-year-old singer and songwriter from Kristiansand. In 2021, Sofie made it to the final of The Voice.
Her Melodi Grand Prix entry was written with the help of Kjetil Mørland, a familiar face to the competition. Kjetil finished in 8th place at Eurovision in 2015 alongside duet partner Debrah Scarlett. Since then a number of his tracks featured in Melodi Grand Prix, performed by various artists.

NorthKid – Someone
Music and Lyrics: Helge Moen / Alex Charles / Sandra Lyng / Jim Bergsted
NorthKid is a boyband fronted by Bilal Saab, known to Norwegians for winning television show Stjernekamp in 2019.
The other members are Helge Moen, Håkon Guttormsen, Sebastian Willassen and Vegard Olaussen. They all originate from Alta and Hasvik at the very top of Norway, where winter temperatures remain below freezing.
The group values joy, playfulness and acceptance in their music and way of life. They plan on showcasing these values in their Melodi Grand Prix entry.
