Estonia won Eurovision back in 2001, but has since been hit or miss at the contest, especially in more recent years. The nation missed out on the final in 2021, but hoping to return to the final is Stefan with his song, ‘Hope’. He hopes to qualify, but will he?
Anita
Song and Vocals
There were some quality entries in the Estonian selection this year, with this being one of them. This country western inspired track is uplifting, and the perfect song to really fill the arena. I love the verses, where Stefan uses a lower tone. The choruses are catchy, and with few words, people will surely remember the lyrics and sing along. The danger with having a chorus like this is that it becomes too repetitive, but I don’t think this song crosses that line.
As for the live vocals, we’ve seen Stefan in the national final and know what he is capable of – I have no doubt that we will see a similar performance at Eurovision. He doesn’t seem to struggle with either the low or higher notes, but I hope he is able to enunciate the lyrics better, as at times during the verses it can be difficult to understand the lyrics.
Performance and Act
I expect a very similar performance to the national final. We will see those country western vibes in the visuals, likely with similar imagery projected on the LED’s. I think they will also stick with the camera filters, which in this case suits the performance.
Conclusions
Earlier in the season I was less sure of the qualification of this track, but now I feel fairly confident that this will make it to the final. This is a catchy track that audiences can easily sing along to, and should it be performed well there’s no reason why this couldn’t make it to the final. Where it goes from there I’m not too sure.

Song and Vocals
Stefan is a strong vocalist and musician and shows this is the case in his performance of ‘Hope’. The song with Western influences may not be the most original one, but it’s being delivered in a convincing and competent way.
Performance and Act
Stefan takes his guitar and has western vibes and setting in his live performance in Estonia and I expect him to do this in Torino as well. He has charisma and looks good on camera, which obviously also works well in his favour.
Conclusions
For the first time in a couple of years I have high hopes again for Estonia making it to the final. Whether Stefan will get a top result there as well I need to wait and see what his starting position in the final will be. I am not ruling out one of their best results in the last couple of years.
