Nicolas Alves will represent Portugal at Junior Eurovision this year. His competing entry will be revealed at a later date.
The Voice Kids Portugal was once again used as the selection method, with Nicolas Alves finishing in second place. The Voice Kids winner is generally selected by the Portuguese broadcaster. However, in this circumstance the winner, Maria Gil would have been too old to compete at Junior Eurovision.
Nicolas Alves is 13 years old, and originally from the United Kingdom. He moved to Portugal at the age of 10 years old. In The Voice Kids, he was mentored by Carolina Deslandes.
