Austrian broadcaster ORF will once again internally select their representative and song for Eurovision 2023.
The broadcaster has internally selected since 2017, yielding mixed results over those years. A number of acts were approached by audio producer Eberhard Forcher and producer Lukas Hillebrand for live castings.
The recordings from the castings will be assessed by a jury of Austrian and International Eurovision experts, as well as members from Eurovision fan clubs. Once the results of the juries are received, the Program Director and Entertainment Director along with editors will select the Austrian representative.
LUM!X feat. Pia Maria represented Austria in 2022 with the song ‘Halo’, which finished 15th in the Semi-Final with a total of 42 points.
