After months of waiting for news from the Aussie broadcaster, SBS, we have finally found out who will be following from Guy Sebastian. During a concert at the Sydney Opera house, featuring iconic Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australia’s first participant Guy Sebastian joined Conchita on stage to present the 2016 act for Eurovision. So who will be representing Australia? It’s Dami Im!
Dami Im was born in South Korea, and moved to Australia when she was 9 years old. In 2013, she participated in X Factor, and with huge performances, she took the title with ease. Since winning, she has released hit singles such as Alive, Super Love and Gladiator.
The song that she will be singing in Eurovision is yet to be released, however we will only have to wait until the 11th of March. The song has been described as Mid Tempo, so we can expect something spectacular.
Dami says, ‘I am so thrilled and honoured to be representing Australia at Eurovision this year in Stockholm. I am really excited to be following in the footsteps of Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy who have both graced the Eurovision stage before me. I truly believe that the Australian public and Eurovision fans around the world are going to love the song I will be performing in Sweden. I cannot wait to showcase it to the world and represent Australia to the best of my ability!’
Stay tuned for her song release! Do you think Dami Im was the right choice?
