The next Junior Eurovision star has been chosen, and today we’re learning about the young star from Cyprus! It has been announced that Nicole Nicolaou has been internally selected to represent Cyprus at this year’s contest to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, in late November.
The entry that Nicole will be singing is called I Wanna Be A Star, which was written by Constantinos Christoforou, and is about believing in oneself to achieve any goals set for themselves. The staging for the song will be directed by Antigoni Tasouri. Unfortunately, we have to wait a few more weeks to hear the song!
Nicole was born in Limassol in 2004, and can speak Greek, English and Russian fluently, as well as starting to learn French. Last year, she won the 6th Annual Talent Show organised by Limassol Theatre Art School. She has played piano for the last two years, and has been singing as a student of Aliki Chrysochou for the last four years. She is an artistic person, who enjoys drawing, however she also enjoys sports such as wakeboarding and hiking.
She has commented on her upcoming gig, saying, ‘This is such an honour for me to represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2017 where kids from so many countries come together to share a common dream, sing and perform. My inspiration is my family, my friends, my everyday life and activities’
