Destination Eurovision: Here are the finalists!

Over the weekend, the second semi-final of Destination Eurovision took place, where another nine acts took to the stage in the hopes of getting one of the last four places in the final of France’s 2018 Eurovision national selection.

As we have reported in previous weeks, the voting for the show is decided through two juries. The two sections of the jury were the French jury, consisting of Amir, Isabelle Boulay and Christophe Willem, and the international jury consisting of Christer Björkman, Nicola Caligliore and Olga Salmakhe.

The acts competing in the second semi-final were:

  • Lucie Vagenheim – My World

  • Madame Monsieur – Mercy

  • Jane Constance – Un jour j’ai rêvé

  • Nassi – Rêve de gamin

  • Igit – Lisboa Jérusalem

  • Max Cinnamon – Ailleurs

  • Sarah Caillibot – Tu me manques

  • Sweem – Là-haut

  • June The Girl – Same

Here’s the breakdown of the voting!

Let’s start with the international jury, who for the most part agreed on the qualifiers. Belarusian jury representative Olga Salmakhe gave top points to Madame Monsieur, then Max Cinnamon 10. Interestingly, Olga gave only 4 points to Igit, who was given the top points from Italy’s jury representative Nicola Caligliore. Nicola gave her 10 points to Madame Monsieur, and 8 points to Max Cinnamon. Swedish jury representative Christer Björkman preferred Nassi, and then Max Cinnamon.

Overall, the international jury placed Madame Monsieur in top place, followed by Max Cinnamon, Nassi and Igit.

Now to the French jury, starting with former French Eurovision participant Amir, who gave his top points to Nassi, then Max Cinnamon. Isabelle Boulay gave her points to Madame Monsieur, then once again Max Cinnamon. The final jury member, Christophe Willem gave his top points to Madame Monsieur, then Igit.

This means that overall, here are the four qualifiers:

  • Madame Monsieur – Mercy

  • Max Cinnamon – Ailleurs

  • Nassi – Rêve de gamin

  • Igit – Lisboa Jérusalem

These four acts will join last week’s qualifiers in the final which will take place this weekend. Here is the full list of finalists
